2009 seemed to have flown by in a blur.  Here’s hoping 2010 will be a bit less blurry.  The New Year generally signifies New Beginnings or a Fresh Start, so for this week’s Quotable Sunday I’ve dug up some excellent quotes on that very subject matter…enjoy!

“If you have made mistakes, there is always another chance for you. You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call ‘failure’ is not the falling down, but the staying down.”
Mary Pickford

“I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day, a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning…”
Joseph Priestley

“Every man should be born again on the first day of January. Start with a fresh page. Take up one hole more in the buckle if necessary, or let down one, according to circumstances; but on the first of January let every man gird himself once more, with his face to the front, and take no interest in the things that were and are past.”
Henry Ward Beecher

“What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly.”
Richard Bach

“If one dream should fall and break into a thousand pieces, never be afraid to pick one of those pieces up and begin again.”
Flavia Weedn

“The world is round and the place which may seem like the end may also be only the beginning.”
Ivy Baker Priest

“A bend in the road is not the end of the road… unless you fail to make the turn.”
Unknown

“One has to remember that every failure can be a stepping stone to something better.”
Col. Harland Sanders

“Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.”

(I can’t get your new blog to update in my blog roll on my blog, so please don’t take it personal that you are not there right now under my PA friends!)It kept showing the last post on your old site. Maybe in a couple days it will feed. I know other WordPress feeds are a day or two behind sometimes!)

  2. Both dumb and smart people make mistakes. The smart ones learn from them, the dumb ones repeat them.

  3. I love the one about starting from now and making a brand new ending.

PS. Is it bad that I feel as if I’ve been abandoned with the change? I don’t know why and it’s stupid but I feel sad.

    1. Awwww! Don’t feel abandoned! I’m actually feeling awfully lonely over here because I still haven’t figured out how to fix my feeds and redirection so my info is current on people’s readers and such. There’s a huge echo going on over here right now, along with crossed eyes. 😉 And once I get all the details figured out, if you ever decide to move to the ‘other side’, I’ll be more than happy to help you, my friend and future roomie! 🙂

  4. Great quotes. They are all so inspiring. I may have to write some of them down so I can remember them.

    Happy New Year!

I like the new digs, Stacy. I stopped by yesterday but I was using a work computer with a questionable version of Explorer so I couldn’t comment. Working fine in Safari though.

    Happy belated New Year.

  6. Oh I love this one: “Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.”
The new digs continue to look great! And I follow via Blogger and you showed up in my reader just fine today!
    Have a great week!

  7. I can tell I just saw UP IN THE AIR yesterday, as I could imagine George Clooney’s character saying some of these things…

Personally, I like the Ricard Back one!

  8. Wonderful choices. I was planning on doing my QS on new beginnings, but I decided on pregnancy instead…a new beginning of sorts…love your quotes, especially Richard Bach.

    🙂
