Dear Santa,

I’ve been pretty good this year for the most part.  Sure I’ve been lacking severely in the housekeeping department, but I felt that blogging took priority over keeping the house sparkling.  Besides, when you stop by on Christmas Eve, you’ll note that it has a ‘homey’ feel if you squint really hard.  Or keep your eyes closed.  Either way works.

First up on my list is a maid.  He or she’d have to be able to clean with his/her eyes closed, though, because if he/she stepped foot in my house at this moment, he/she’d probably run away screaming in fear.  At least that what I did yesterday.
While you’re at it, maybe you can invent a washer and dryer that completes all the laundry automatically from start to finish – including folding and putting away in drawers and closets. That would eliminate the piles of clean clothes that haven’t been put away yet, and maybe the maid wouldn’t be scared off so quickly.
My point-and-shoot camera has served me well over the last couple of years, but I really really would like to get a much better more photographer-friendly camera such as the Nikon D5000:
As you know, I’d been studiously saving up for this particular kit, but then life interrupted and my careful savings ended up being dwindled by necessities.  So if you have room in your gift bag, adding one of these would be greatly appreciated.
You  know how diamonds are a girl’s best friend?  Well, I’ve been asking hubby for a pair of these for years:

While he was awesome by getting me diamond solitaire earrings, he didn’t hear me correctly when I asked for Princess Cut or ‘square’.  The round ones are pretty, and I do appreciate them, but I would love to have some that match my engagement ring.  While you’re at it, maybe you could throw in a matching nose ring, too:
You know, because I love to be coordinated.  I suppose I should ask for better coordination so I’m not tripping over things and bumping into things, but that might take a little more work on your part.
Oh, and I hate to mention it, but my laptop has been starting to cause me some trouble lately.  I’m not sure that I want to take the leap of faith and switch over to a Mac, though my brother sings high praises after he crossed over to the other side.  So if a Mac will eliminate the headaches, I’d be open for a change.  As long as it can handle the scads of PC software I have and need.
And while we’re talking about technology, I’m really intrigued by the Kindle.  So if you have an extra one laying around, I’d be happy to take it off your hands and put it to good use.  Though I have a feeling if I get one, I’ll get even less sleep, because I’d then be able to read in the dark.
In addition to that, I could really use a smartphone.  I’m not picky on which kind, just that it can help keep me organized and connected to the internet on a whim.
We’ll be sure to leave you extra cookies on Christmas Eve since you work very hard and deserve a break and a treat.  We’re mixing up some yummy Reindeer Food for the Reindeer – will Rudolph need some nose polish to keep his nose shiny and bright?
This Wishful Spin Cycle was brought to you in part by Jen, one of Santa’s best elves and Sprite’s Keeper.  Head on over and check out the other spinners – you might find some great ideas to add to your Santa list – there’s still time for him to add them to his goody bag.

    peace

  2. Ooh I like your list. I'd definitely recommend switching to a Mac – I love my MacBook and I'd never go back to the dark side (y'know, the other one..). Hope you get everything you want.

  3. Love the list. Hope you at least get some of it. And if he leaves an extra maid, send her to my place please.

  4. Santa really does see you when you'r sleeping in this case! ha ha, and he does know when you're awake too, Oh Oh, he's moving!

  5. Dear Santa,

I have been good this year too. Now, I can't take my eyes off of that diamond earring above…Hehe.

    Nice post.

  6. Hi Stacy – I am trying to get in touch with you re a campaign that we are working on together with fuelmyblog – could you make contact with me sylvie(at)fuelmyblogdotcom

    Many thanks!

    Sylvie

  7. I love my MacBook.. switch.

And if you were truely coordinated you would notice the nose ring is gold and the earrings are plat/silver… just saying..

And I want a maid too.. stat.

  8. Maybe, you should give your list to Santa? lol

I see that Santa dropped a lot of comments last night on peoples blogs and is now starting to get quite a following! :))

He has also answered some letters!

  9. Oh, if only such extravagant gifts were on the table…That camera looks fancy, I'll take one! And as long as Santa is being generous, I'll take the full service washer drier combo and the maid. 😉

  10. Well, I sure do hope HH reads this post to "Santa" and makes at least some of your wishes come true.

Hey, I didn't know you had your nose pierced! How old were you when you had it done?

    Justine 😮 )

  11. now that's a totally reasonable list. 🙂 What is raindeer mix? I know I've seen that mentioned before but some days I'm a bit cloudy about where I reads stuffs.

  12. I'm not allowed to post about it so I'll say it here. My Mom was asking for a Mac for a long time and when my dad got her one, she couldn't get it with the switch from Windows and it gave her too many problems, not user friendly enough, so she gave the brand new Mac to my dad who loves it and he had to get her a whole nother computer. See? Funny and I couldn't even post about it! Oy! She wants a Kindle too, but I think my dad is trying to make her think it's made by Mac.. 🙂
    You're linked!

  13. You know, I didn't even think to ask for some coordination.

I'd smack myself on the forehead over that one, but since I'm not really coordinated, I might put my eye out.

  14. I feel out of the loop, I've never been without a Mac. But I can tell you that they do NOT handle everything. Sometimes it takes a whole 2 minutes to solve a glitch and get things running smooth again.
    Loved your list. Happy Holidays.

  15. I love your list. I think I'd put a new laptop on the very top, but after that, I'm wish you all the way!

  16. Great Santa Letter! I love it.

also, I'm a new Mac… about 6 months or so. I LOVE it and will never be a pc again. I have a MacBook Pro.

I also have a Kindle and I love it as well. At first I was worried about missing 'pages' to turn, but I don't feel that way at all. Get one you'll love it.

I also have an iphone (is that what you meant by smart phone?) anyway my phone is much smarter than I am. Plus there is a Kindle app so if I don't have my big kindle I can read on my phone and it automatically syncs with my other one and I always know just where I am in my book!

  17. Great list! I hope you get everything you wish for. Macs scare me!! Good luck with that one – my friend hates hers.

  18. there with you on the laptop sugar but I would also like a new rug for the living room, one for the dining room and a new dining table and chairs oh and couple chairs for the living room as well oh and……sorry, couldn't help myself

  19. I have been obsessed with the idea of a washer/dryer/folder combo for years! Doesn't it seem like somebody should have come up with this by now? At least the washer/dryer thing. I have a front loader, and it seems totally logical that they would be able to just attach hot air to it and dry the stuff after the wash. We should be inventors.

  20. Great list. I would so love diamond earrings. I ask for them every year, knowing that they are not at all a realistic gift. But, maybe…someday…

Also, I think that 2010 will be the year I become a better photographer. Do I need to fancy camera to do it? I really am clueless about it all…

  21. Oh Lordy I need a maid – more than a maid, I need Alice.

I had to write it as a goal in my life – a serious honest to goodness GOAL to put my laundry away after folding. It worked and now I fold the darn stuff and put it away.

I Kindle – I love it. LOVE IT! However, it isn't backlit like a computer, so you can't read it in the dark unless you have a book light. That's why the kindle is soooo cool, it doesn't hurt your eyes reading like a computer screen does.

I have a MAC laptop. I was a PC user and was fed up with viruses. I love my MAC. I still have a dinosaur of a PC that I use for windows stuff that I can't open on the MAC, but I'm just too cheap to buy the Windows for Mac software.

    I don't do diamonds. I'm odd. lol

I got a Nikon D90 this past summer. OMGoodness. The upgrade was phenomenal.
