Georgie and Amy hosted the 2nd Annual Secret Santa Soiree, and I was fortunate enough to be able to participate this year. Can I just say that my Secret Santa ROCKS?  Because she really does.  I took a break this morning from shoveling snow (which will be an ongoing event today, we might get up to two-feet of snow with the snow storm we’re experiencing at this moment. You read that right – two feet!)

So when I figured it was time to take the chill off and make a fresh hot cup of coffee, I decided it was the perfect time to dig into the box that FedEx left on my doorstep late yesterday afternoon:
My Secret Santa wrote me the nicest note –  and apparently there’s another gift coming, but she had to hold off on sending it because it would reveal who she is…I’m so intrigued!  And feel so spoiled, looky at my loot:
You’re dying to find out what all those awesome wrapped packages are, aren’t you?  Here you go:
My Secret Santa spoiled me rotten!  And wow, did she pay attention to the details of the survey form I filled out.  I’m so impressed!

These are a few of my favorite things:

I had to hide the chocolate and Skittles right away, because my chocoholic hubby or Princess Nagger might inhale them before I have a chance to enjoy them – I usually buy those types of things for everyone else, and rarely get to enjoy the special treat just for me!  Good thing I decided to toss the idea of a diet out the window until after the holidays…because you better believe I’m going to be enjoying these immensely!

My favorite genre of books are trashy romance.  Particularly those that are ‘historical’ romance.  My Secret Santa picked out some that I know I’ll enjoy:

I’m looking forward to hiding in a corner and reading these this winter!

I love these candles – their ‘rustic’ look fits in well with our 1817 farmhouse:

I always buy them for friends, and think to myself that I should get myself one, but never do.  So now I have one just for me!  It’s going to be sending out some awesome aromas later today.

And finally, my favorite of the box’o’loot:

In case you can’t read it very well, the back of the box reads:

A Great Pair

Shopping for shoes is serious fun –
that’s why it simply should never be done
without a great friend who knows what looks cute
and helps put the “merry” in Christmas to boot!

I admit it – I love going shoe shopping, and love shoes.  It’s so true that it’s so much more fun to go shoe shopping with a friend – and the fact that this is a deer ornament is the icing on the cake!
Isn’t it adorable?!  For those of you who have been reading my blog for awhile, you might have seen me mention that I’ve been collecting deer since I was 7 years old.   Or maybe I haven’t mentioned it.
The story behind that is quite comical – my sister (who was 8 at the time) and I were for some reason choosing what our favorite animals were.  We both loved horses, but being that she’s a year older than me, she got first dibs on horses as her favorite, and told me that I was not allowed to choose horses, too.

I decided to choose something that, to a 7-year old, were very similar to horses – deer.  Now, years later, I’m very happy with my ‘second choice’ selection, because I have been able to acquire some of the coolest and unique deer items ever.  I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of receiving deer items as gifts, because I consider those as very thoughtful gifts.

In fact, if hubby ever gets stumped trying to figure out what to get me as a gift, I always tell him:  “Um, hello!  Four letter word… D-E-E-R.”   Which of course makes this time of year one of my favorites, because there are a plethora of cool and unique deer items all over the place!

Thank you so much, my Sweet Secret Santa – you absolutely ROCK, I can’t wait to find out who you are so I can thank you properly!  And a giant Thank You to Georgie and Amy for hosting the Secret Santa Soiree, I know it has to be a lot of work coordinating something like this, both of you ROCK, too!
Now back to the snow shoveling – since starting to write this post, so much snow has fallen it looks like I didn’t even shovel!  You better believe that tonight will be a perfect night for a nice hot bubble bath with candles, a glass of wine, some chocolates and one of the books my Secret Santa sent!

  1. I am in awe! Your exchange partner really outdid herself…I have said this on so many blogs but…it is just as much for me seeing what everyone is receiving as it was for me to open my own box of goodies…

We are so glad you were a part of our SSS Stacy!

  2. Your secret Santa is truly awesome! what terrific gifts you got! I love the deer ornament! I collect Santas and have well over 100 of them. I've decided recently that I want to concentrate on only Irish Santas. So my daughter will be getting some cool Santas this year.

  3. What thoughtful gifts. And, boy, do I understand the need to shovel. We're up to our ears in it here, too!

  4. Cool beans!!!

Where the hell have I been? I want to play Secret Santa. Next year. Guess that will teach me to hide my head in the sand, moping and feeling sorry for myself.

Hooray for you and all your goodies!

  5. How cool, every time I had a secret Santa my gifts weren't that wonderful!

  6. What a great gift! I never figured you for the romance novels? You learn something new every day, I guess. If I see a leather suit and a whip in your Valentines day gift, I am gonna die! hahaha!

  7. How wonderful and thoughtful. Enjoy your fabulous gifts and try to enjoy the snow too…throw a snowball or two or three…:) while you are out shoveling. Hope you and yours are safe and enjoying being snowed in. XX Lori

  8. What great gifts! I missed seeing about the Secret Santa until it was too late!

So how much snow did you get. I think we topped out around 1 ft, maybe 8-10", plenty. Luckily we don't really have to shoveled, and I was able to get both cars out of the spaces after they plowed without having to shovel the pile left in front of the car. Tara and the boys have been out playing in the snow a couple times…

  9. Ooh, another great SS!!!!! Vanilla honey? That sounds wonderful! Me wants one!

Hey, we're allowed to tell who we bought for now… she could have sent the whole thing!

  10. Christmas came early to your house! What a wonderful and personal box of gifts you received!

  11. I've never done Secret Santa before but it looks like it would be fun. You know, because of the candy. Yum.

  12. Good morning Stacy! It's me…your Secret Santa!!! I'm so glad that you enjoyed your gifts…I loved that I found that deer ornament for you. Gotta love Hallmark!! The mystery gift that I told you about is a Family Rules Canvas to hang on your wall. I couldn't tell you because it would give me away! I am going to be working on this project for myself over the Christmas holiday so there will be pictures up on my website in the next week or so. Then you can decided what colors and sayings you would like. Does that sound good to you?
