Keely, the Keeper of the Random Tuesday Thoughts process was on vacation last week…I think she might still be gone this week, but her awesome stand-ins have been doing a great job keeping her blog hopping with interesting tidbits and antidotes…hopefully her pack’n’play excursions have been as entertaining as her guest posters have been.
First, I want to wish both my sister Kimn, and my Aunt Susie a Very Happy Birthday! I remembered yesterday that I had birthday cards and gifts to mail out… So you’ll be getting them late – but better late than never, and since today is your birthday(s), I wanted to make sure to send you long-distance ((HUGZ!!)) and Birthday Wishes.

What is up with Google/Blogger these days? I keep getting these funky messages when I try to visit my favorite blogs:
Unless you click on the picture to see what it actually says, it’s hard to read – so I’ll help you out. It says: “We’re sorry… but your computer or network may be sending automated queries. To protect our users, we can’t process your request right now.” Unless I’ve turned into a robot or been taken over by zombies, how can manually typing in someone’s blog address be mistaken for an ‘automatic query’?

I ran into that one a lot yesterday, along with the one that says “SORRY...blah, blah, blah…try again in 30 seconds.” You know, trying to get caught up and get visits in around the blogosphere is a little difficult with those Googleblockheads in place. And don’t get me started on Blogger – I tried to leave a bazillion comments on Blogger blogs yesterday, and they kept getting eaten up! So apparently Blogger was hungry. Hopefully I’ll have better luck today and Blogger’s tummy will still be full from yesterday.

So last Friday was my bi-monthly grocery shopping day. Have I mentioned that Princess Nagger hates to go grocery shopping? Even though she had ‘the best day of her life’ riding in the ginormous blue shopping cart at Wal*Mart prior, she still drags her feet when I’m trying to get out of the house in a timely manner so we can get done early so we’re home before it gets blazingly hot outside. Luckily that’s the last time she’ll have to accompany me on the bi-monthly shopping for the summer, because she’ll be in school on the next one. Only one week from tomorrow…

She was in rare form (read: cranky, complaining, whining, crying, etc.). It didn’t help matters that our first stop, Wal*Mart, was a PITA – they haven’t been turning on their A/C this summer – you know, to conserve energy – so it’s always sweltering in the store. We finally get to the checkout without much incident whining from the PN, only to have the woman directly in front of me spend no less that 15 minutes arguing over a 75-cent coupon. She had given the cashier a stack of about 20 coupons, and insisted that the cashier forgot one 75-cent one. So she was making the poor cashier check Every. Single. One. I felt sorry for the cashier and felt like pulling 3 quarters out and handing them to her so she’d be on her way – I was watching my ice cream and frozen items on the belt slowly melting in the heat.

On the way to/from getting our puppy from West Virginia, we saw this cafe:
Here’s a closer shot of the sign:
Makes you wonder what they really serve there. Dog BBQ? Here’s what the actual cafe looks like (from the outside…what, you think we’d go inside? We had dogs in the car, people!):

Our neighbors vegetable garden has been growing like gangbusters this summer – makes a good argument for having a raised vegetable garden to keep away the pesky critters (like the ones that munched our garden to the ground). But our neighbors are totally cool – they’re sharing the wealth with us. She brought over a thingy of tomatoes Sunday evening:
If you look closely, you’ll see that Princess Nagger was trying to pull a prank and added one of her toy tomatoes to the pile to see if Dada would accidentally try to wash it and eat it:
The neighbor also gifted us an eggplant:
It’s a ginormous one:

And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for (Yaya)… Puppy Pictures!!! Introducing the New Puppy (for those that were wondering, he’s a Sable Sheltie aka Shetland Sheepdog, often mistaken for a miniature collie):
Oh, but you want to know his name, don’t you? Remember how we named our Blue Merle Sheltie (who is now 9 months old) Travis Triplehorn Maxwell? We decided we needed to give the new puppy 3 names, too…so we’ve named him Rolex Clockwerk Cooper. Rolex, because they’re great watch dogs, Clockwerk from Sly Cooper, and Cooper from the same (as insisted on by the Princess Nagger, of course). So there ya have it. Travis was not sure what to think of him at first:
But now they’re fast friends. Elvis (our Wheaten Terrier) seems intrigued by him, too – and relieved that now Travis is harassing the puppy instead of him. Sunday night as I was switching laundry after midnight (yes, I know, I should have been sleeping – but the upstairs bathroom where the washer/dryer is gets extremely hot during the day, so I’ve been doing a load or two in stealth mode at night when it’s slightly cooler. You know, 80 degrees in the bathroom instead of 90-ish). The puppy started doing some pitiful crying in the cage downstairs, so I went down and cuddled him for a few minutes – after all, it’s his first night all alone without his siblings and other dogs. Then I decided to raid Princess Nagger’s toy box and found the perfect stuffed doggy to put in his cage with him…it seemed to do the trick!

Princess Nagger has been having a blast playing with Rolex – she’s made up contests for him specifically, and of course he’s been winning them hands down…or should I say ‘paws’ down… She snuck him upstairs just before bedtime Sunday night – hubby found Rolex sound asleep on my pillow, with Princess Nagger sound asleep face-planted on the bed next to him. Of course if I had been the one to discover this fun sight, I would have grabbed the camera before moving them to their respective beds. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Don’t forget to stop by the Un-Mom‘s place and harass her guest posters….I’m sure she’d appreciate it while she’s on vacation so her guests will feel just as loved as she is. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  1. Ah, puppy love!

I kept getting that message from google. I had to reboot and then it went away. Very annoying.

  2. Google was giving me that crazy message last week. And at least half the messages I leave come back as error and I have to send them a second time.

BBQ dog? Well, guess it depends how good the sauce is.

  3. I'm actually slightly glad to hear you've been getting that Google message too. I thought I was going mad. I wrote a long comment last night on a blog and then was unable to submit it, the whole thing was diving me mad!

  4. Oh, he is SO cute! I love puppies (as long as someone else is cleaning up their messes!). =)

  5. I LOVE the names for your four legged kiddos ~ very clever. Both are adorable.

I am envious of the friends garden, not just for the tomatoes, but that eggplant…if I were your other neighbor and happened to stop by and saw that beauty, it would end up in my purse as I said goodbye. By the time you noticed it was gone, I would have already eaten every last bite of it.

  6. Mmmm fresh picked tomatoes!

    Dog BBQ, ew!

PUPPY PICTURES!!!!!!! Whoo hoo! Rolex is SO CUTE!

  7. I'd love to have neighbors like that! Those tomatoes look DELISH!

Mr. Rolex is ADORABLE. Makes me want to get another puppy!

  8. i got the Sorry from Google a lot yesterday as well…it bites! cute pics of the dog…not the restaurant, lol…great looking tomatos, i'd be making some sandwiches…

  9. I kept getting that Google message yesterday, too – sorry you had it, but glad to know I wasn't alone!

    Cute pup!

  10. He's BEAUTIFUL! I'd sneak him upstairs too:)

I'm glad I'm not the only one getting that message… I did the whole "freak out, run a virus scan, freak out that it as something that wasn't coming up on the virus scan, re-boot, calm down because it was stupid google and not my computer" thing. A productive way to spend an hour of my day I'd say.

  11. We all got that message!!! I feel so much better. I thought that I had gone over the edge with my blogging when I saw that message. Crazy.

So sorry for your heat in the house. Beautiful old house…. I would have to move. I want my central air. Fall will be here soon ๐Ÿ™‚

    Great new dog! Just adorable.

And, I am excited that PN is going to school soon ALL DAY!! I am happy for you. The changes in a child during the first grade year can be just amazing. My oldest gave up his stuffed animals that year. My youngest got some great help with his temper from a grade jump to second grade to challenge him more. I think super sperm has gotten a little better this summer too. I have not been putting up his "ass" behavior.

Oh my… I should just write another post at this point!!!

  12. Rolex is darling and the tomatoes look beyond scrumptious! Hmm, I guess the plastic one does look somewhat edible?

  13. Rolex is A-Door-A-Bule!
    How cute!

As for the Dog BBQ – The secret's in the sauce. ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. Awwwww…your puppy is so cute! I have to laugh at how comfortable your pets seem to be up on the furniture! My sister's dogs act like they own one of her couches. If you're sitting in "their" spot, they'll jump right up and sit on top of you and they're huge so you have to move.

    Those vegetables are so beautiful!

  15. Tomatoes, eggplant and dogs – just what on earth are you making??

I'd be a bit worried about that cafe too. I mean really dog…that's an awful lot of hair.

And yes blogger sucks. I've been commenting and nothing is sticking. People must thing I don't care. I do, I promise!

  16. Bi-monthly? It's obvious you don't have any boys or teens in your house.
Your baby looks exactly like my old sheltie! Very pretty ๐Ÿ™‚

  17. Love that puppy ๐Ÿ™‚

And PN and I are kindred spirits. I hate grocery shopping, too, and I would totally put a fake tomatoe in the bunch to try and trick DH. Tee hee.

  18. My kids are sick of grocery shopping too. So, you didn't stop at the Earth Dog BBQ did you? Your puppy is so cute and I want to know your secret for getting your husband to agree to 3 dogs in the house.

  19. Oh my, that is some serious canine cuteness going on! And those tomatoes! I want a summer spinach salad with tomato now.

  20. Oh my gosh, too cute!!

And can I just say I was about to pull my HAIR out with that message from Google?! I couldn't get it to go away…even after re-starting my computer. Grr.

  21. Happy birthday to your Sister and Aunt! ๐Ÿ˜€

I haven't gotten that specific error from google, but I have had that same error with blogger, where he eats your comments and you end up commenting more than once with the same message and you only realize that when you get the e-mail subscription notice.. Ugh!

The heat can make kids cranky, and whiny.. in other words, annoying. I don't like grocery shopping with kids because of that reason, I want to go on a kid free grocery shopping day.. *sigh*

75 cents can be a lot for some people I guess.. ๐Ÿ˜›

OMG, it says Bar-B-Que and Beyond, what does "beyond" mean??? Oh, you know, where I'm from, some people actually eat dog meat.. Sorry.. But I DON'T!

Wow, tomatoes here never get that big! and that is one huuge egg plant! and we don't have Vanilla Coke!!!

Aww.. your newest family member is adorable.. ๐Ÿ˜€

    Happy RTT Stacy! ๐Ÿ˜€

  22. really cute puppy!!

google went crazy on me too!!!:)

Please update our info…we have shifted to our own domain..just follow the link of the comment..

  23. Well good, now I know Google doesn't have some sort of personal vendetta against me!

LOVE the puppy pics! He is so stinkin' cute. Yes, I'm with you. I'd have had to take a picture of the little sleepers.

  24. Holy crap, Travis looks like a giant next to Rolex! The same thing happened when we brought Elliot home, Graham looked like a man-child.

So seriously, Walmart didn't turn on their air? WTF is that all about? I hate shopping at Walmart but have recently been sneaking in there since their stuff is way cheaper than Target.

Happy randomness. Yay for school starting next week!

  25. your puppy is adorable – I love shelties… and the name, Rolex, is perfect. I also adore the plastic tomato trick PN pulled. My daughters used to live for that stuff ๐Ÿ™‚

  26. Ahhh, I showed Rolex to LG and he is now dancing around screaming, "doggie". After about 5 minutes of petting the screen. That pup is serious cuddlable material.

  27. HA – I dont even want to know what's 'beyond' about the earth dog bbq. yikes.

    gigantic eggplant… yum.

  28. Stacy- I think many of us had trouble yesterday with blogger/google! Love BB-Q shacks, home-grown tomatoes, understand your daughter is diva wife in training, and pretty much enjoyed your post! Jeez that's a mouth full! Keep doin' whatcha do, as you look great doing it!

  29. All of my comments were eaten yesterday too. So Hopefully blogger is full.
I think the puppy is adorable and your names for him are so cute!

    Earth Dog scares me…

  30. so many internets getting new puppies…and I can't seem to GIVE my dog away. *sigh*

  31. That is the same, exact error message I was talking about on my blog today. It seems to be gone now, thank goodness.

    The doggie is toooooo cuuuuuuute!

  32. You post a picture of a place that may cook dogs! LOL! And then you post pictures of dogs, I felt like I was looking at a menu! hahaha!

  33. What an adorable puppy! I love shelties, we always had them growing up and my mom still has one. Your other dog is gorgeous!

My kids hate the grocery store too. It's very frustrating.

Those tomatoes look delicious and I don't even like tomatoes!

    Have a great day!

    Raven

  34. hey girl, i had just been given a bag of tomatoes myself – will try fried green ones tomorrow! ps. i read a bit about your sad past and it tore me. i'm sorry, stacy. i am VERY HAPPY that you are back on your feet, and the Lord has sgowered you with bountiful blessings. love and prayers from nc…

  35. Blogger kept doing the same thing to me – but it was a week ago Friday. This week all is running smoothly – for a change! Love the new pics of Rolex ๐Ÿ˜€

  36. I am all for energy conservation, but shutting of the a.c. in a walmart all summer? that's insane.

    cute, cute puppy!

hmmmmm… i didn't have that issue with google or blogger. i must not be roboty enough

  37. Those tomatoes look amazing! I can't remember the last time I had a big fragrant juicy tomato. I used to love them when I was a kid.
The puppy is adorable. I'm glad he's accepted by the other dogs, that makes all of the difference between happy and h*ll.
