My rose bushes (all my plants for that matter) have been confused by the antics of Mother Nature – first she brought summer-like warmth in April so they started to wake up and grow, then she hit them with a few nights of frost in May, which made them wonder if they had somehow missed spring.

With the recently alternating hot-and-humid days coupled with the bouts of major thunder storms and lots of rain, my roses have finally decided to mock Mother Nature and show themselves off. I took this picture immediately following a thunderstorm that doused everything then moved on, letting the sun shine through.

  1. How pretty! It's nice to see someone's flowers making it through the craziness. My whole yard is trying to figure out whether to live or die in this crazy back and forth weather.

  2. I just wanted to stop by and let you know that I have an award for you over at my blog. I really enjoy your blog, and appreciate your follow and sweet comments!

The weather has been nuts over here. Warm, humid, then cold. Though we haven't had a thunderstorm in a while. Wouldn't mind one. I like them, except for the tornado producing kind:)

  5. I would imagine the plants would have a "WTF" moment when things are changing so rapidly. I'm glad you got a pretty flower out of it though!

  11. We have 1 lone rose bush. We should have pruned it last year, but didn't. I think it's going to be awhile, if indeed it does bloom.

  12. Stacy! Hi! It looks like you're happy and it seems pretty relaxed over here so I'm hoping you're having fun with your blogging again and it's all relaxing now.

Things are good with me. I kept that email but just don't check it very often. I have a new one too.

We'll have to catch up one of these days!!

  13. I love roses! It has been so cold here none of my flowers are doing well. It's hard to believe summer is officially starting in a few weeks!
