You know the drill…since I’m rarely wordless, I like to combine Wordless Wednesday with Wordful Wednesday – that way I can be lazy efficient and cover both bases with one easy post! 😉

Decorating Easter Eggs Saturday Night:

The Eggs (one broke when they were boiled, so we had 11):Princess Nagger made a smiley face one…with hair:

We used these – not recommended, they were a pain to use, your fingers got mega sticky and there wasn’t nearly enough to cover even a half dozen eggs in one kit – not to mention the eggs didn’t turn out nearly as cool looking as the pictures – mostly because of the lack of materials to use:
The result:
And these things? Totally lame – it pretty much ‘globs’ the color onto the eggs, no way is it possible to make cool designs, the ink/dye comes out way too fast to control on a small surface – and the color runs if they get wet:
But those three leftovers were perfect for what Princess Nagger called her ‘Masterpiece’:
Easter Morning (Princess Nagger immediately went around and collected the eggs I had hidden just moments before she came downstairs – then she was all about opening the basket the Easter Bunny left for her:
Lots of goodies – more toy items than candy for good reason… 😉
I told her to hold that up for a picture just for Yaya:
She didn’t think the Easter Bunny left her the one thing she really really wanted…but then she caught a glimpse of something…
…and let out a happy cheer when she discovered her Code Lyoko Wii game…

The rest of the day was spent playing with her various toys, macking out on chocolate and playing Code Lyoko…all in all, a very Happy Easter. Except when we told her to clean up the mess she made – then she was all mad and said “My Easter is ruined!!” But she got over it, actually did clean up and then passed out on the couch a short time later… 😉

  8. Those are great! Looks like she was having a good time! I JUST got all of my easter pics off of my camera so I need to do a post!

  9. Looks like PN had a blast!! The whole “My day is ruined!!” cracked me up. For some reason, I can see my daughter pulling that one on me in a few years 🙂

  10. Fabulous eggs and great pics to capture the joy of coloring easter eggs ~ I miss doing that with my kids! But I work at our community easter egg part – we do the easter egg hunt, games, egg contest and the easter bunny is always there – it’s always a big hit!

  11. Looks like so much fun! We skipped EAster this year due to vaca, but I broke down last night and colored eggs with the kids!

  12. She looks like she had a ball! We had a great time coloring our eggs. Thanks for sharing!

  13. *sigh….my Easter was ruined to when I had to clean.. Who knew PN and I had som much in common?

  14. It may have been a PITA, but your eggs came out nice and bright!!!!! I think they look great.

    And PN? Total masterpiece babe.

    Justine 😮 )

  15. I agree. Those fancy kits are over-rated. I stick with a couple drops of vinegar and food coloring. Boring, but effective 😉
I’m not familiar with Wordful Wednesday so I wasn’t sure if my post was “wordy” enough but I just went ahead and hooked it up – just in case!

  16. I’m glad to see people still decorate eggs. I thought that might be a thing of the past.

  17. She put so much thought into decorating those eggs, they came out great. Thanks for the heads up on the glitter kits. I was wondering about them.

  18. WOW, you rock mama on the Easter Egg decorating supplies!!! YAY
Princess is so cute! Thanks for sharing the Easter pics!

  19. What CUTE Easter Eggs. (We had a similar glitter Easter egg decorating experience. Our kit had sponges and paintbrushes. We ended up just using the sponges and sort of sponging the glitter paint on. It sort of gave it a “Fabrege” Egg effect which was sort of cool (and BTW…it was just hubby and I doing the eggs–oh, and Muffin–the furbaby, of course 🙂 but it was SO much fun..we do it every year.

  20. Watching kids color eggs makes me sooooo glad mine are grown lol. But I sure wouldn’t mind having a basket that big full of goodies! I’m glad you had a happy Easter.

  21. PN looks like she had an awesome Easter. We stick to the old fashioned Paas egg coloring kit. Works every time.

  22. Egg coloring has come such a long way from when I was a little girl…a tablet of color and vinegar!

    They are beautiful!
Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  23. Great job coloring the eggs. We just use the Old fashioned PAAS kit =)
Looks like it was a fun Easter (except for the sticky fingers lol)

  24. Looks like PN had a wonderful Easter. Love the masterpiece.

    Love the meltdown as well!!

  25. I love the final shot.. it ‘s like she is saying “YES”!!

  26. I tried one of those egg kits this year and was equally unimpressed. What the heckity-heck do they do to that stuff to make it sticky like that?! Blech.

Looks like a fabulous day 🙂

  27. Nice eggs!

I have decided I make the best hard boiled eggs; I can get it just right with no smell. Unless, I just can’t smell eggs…

Anyway, I FINALLY publicly thanked you for my award, and gave you a little something as well…

  28. I tried the whole more toys than candy thing, but somehow the Easter bunny showed at up the grandparents’ house AND great-grandma’s house. Arg!

  29. Hi Stacy!
Thought I’d drop by and see how things are going! LOVE those eggs 🙂 We had fun making them, too. Although Katie hasn’t let us eat any of them… still… Take good care! Nicole

  30. Those eggs look awesome.

We got a Spongebob dye kit that basically just changed the water color. Oh, and there were Spongebob stickers too.

  31. We got those snap q tip things too this year and both the kids hands were purple from all the dye for several days. NEVER AGAIN! Looked like such a great idea thought.

    Love and Prayers,

    Tim

  32. Bummer about the egg-dying stuff. I bet it was still fun for PN, though. Love her masterpiece. Glad she had a good Easter, even if it was “ruined” for a short time. LOL
