For those of you who have been following along, today is Puppy Day! πŸ˜‰ For those of you in the dark, you can check out my previous posts “Am I Ready for a New Puppy?” and “New Puppy in 6 Days!” to get caught up… πŸ˜‰
The Princess Nagger did indeed remind Dada about bringing the dog cage up from the basement and getting it all cleaned up before today… I think she had an ulterior motive, though, because she was acting like it was her own little mini playground last night:

She was using the stick from a cat fishing toy to tap on the wires and ‘make music’… πŸ˜‰

Then later in the evening, she decided she wanted company, and lured Norman into the cage with her:

She had the entire cage completely covered with her Dora blanket – when I asked her why she had it completely covered up, this was her response:

Princess Nagger: “Norman had his eyes closed, so I figured he wanted it to be dark in here, so I covered the cage with my Dora blanket to make it dark.”

Me: “Oh…interesting! How did you get Norman to go into the cage to begin with?”

Princess Nagger: “Well, I had this really long ribbon that has some knots in it, and he was chasing it. He chased it right into the cage so I knew he wanted to play in there with me.”

Me: “Ah, so you had your own version of a ‘cat trap’, eh?”

Princess Nagger: “Well, not really a ‘trap’, he wanted to go in there, so I let him. Then he was hungry, so I got some cat food and put it in my little heart container to feed him. Then he was thirsty, so I got him some water. But I spilled the water, I’m so, so sorry about that!”

Me: “No biggie – did you clean up the spilled water?”

Princess Nagger: “Oh yes, I sure did! Then Norman wanted to take a nap, so I took a little Cat Nap with him in the cage.”

Me (laughing): “A Cat Nap, huh? That’s a pretty cool thing to do!”

Princess Nagger: “I just wanted to make sure that the cage was perfect for the new puppy…tomorrow is Puppy Day, I’m so excited I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep tonight, so I figured I better take a Cat Nap just in case.”

So we’re off to pick up the puppy – which means I’ll be quite scarce for the next 4 or 5 hours…I have a lot of catching up to do, EntreCards to drop, comments to leave, and some awards to acknowledge and send linky love to the generous givers of those awards. Check back later for an update on our little Puppy Pickup Adventure and see new pics of our new puppy! πŸ˜‰

  15. HAHAHAHA!s That’s too funny, Lisa! πŸ˜€ s Luckily I stayed dry the whole way home…he pretty much slept off and on for the long drive back, and successfully ‘did his business’ on the ‘WeeWee Pads’ we got…heh, heh!s We’re going to paper train him initially (with the WeeWee Pads near the back door), and when the weather warms up, transition him to outside.s With how cold the weather is, it’s recommended to paper train so the puppy doesn’t get sick from the cold…I’m all over that, ‘cuz I’d rather not stand out in the cold waiting for him to do his business any longer than I have to! LOL!!!s
    s
The Little Princess has been having a blast with the new puppy since we got home – she’s ecstatic that he’s a lightweight, she’s been carrying him around with her everywhere she goes…even coaxed him into her play tunnel for a while! LOL!!s Luckily no ‘accidents’…yet! πŸ˜‰
    s
Thanks so much for stopping by, Lisa! πŸ˜€

  16. LOL Harriet!!s They’re her favorite boots – I actually had a pair just like them (so we could match), only I got my really muddy one day and couldn’t get them clean again… πŸ™ s Haven’t gotten a replacement pair yet and boy, do I miss them! πŸ˜‰

  17. I love the pictures in the dog crate! My son is obsessed with climbing in and out. If only it were legal to stick him in there for a few hours so I could go out and get stuff done! I’m kidding, of course. Good luck with the new puppy!

  18. LOL Casey!s I had that same thought!s I was thinking about doing some sort of funny post about how to keep your kids in line…complete with the picture of the Princess Nagger ‘locked up’, but figured there are probably too many people out there that wouldn’t find that humorous… πŸ˜‰

Thanks so much for stopping by! πŸ˜€

  19. Wasn’t it Mark Twain that said the best way to raise them was to put them in a barrell with nothing more than a small hole for water?

Then when they become teenagers- plug the hole.
