randomtuesday

Keely over at The Un-Mom has a fun weekly Random Tuesday thing going…since I’m pretty much Random every day, I figured today being Tuesday it would be as good a day as any to do some random rambling… πŸ˜‰

Keely said that Michele over at It’s a dog’s life heard a rumor that the word ‘news’ is like crack to search engines. I’m testing that theory out with my title. I’ll let you know if I see any difference – positive or negative. (snicker!)

It’s snowing. But how much will be determined by how ‘generous’ Mother Nature feels, because it’s possible she’s simply going to mess with us as she’s been doing for several years…throw down some pretty white snow, then follow that immediately with freezing rain so there’s a nice layer of ice encasing that pretty powdery snow…then follow that with boring rain to wash everything into a slushy mess. If she does that, then the Princess Nagger is going to be disappointed yet again because she won’t be able to build a snowman.

I need more coffee.

The snow thus far this morning has instigated a school delay…so Princess Nagger will be going to school for a whole whopping one hour and 45 minutes this afternoon…that is, unless we get the amount of snow we’re supposed to get, then school may ultimately be canceled. Of course, we’ve never gotten the amount that has been predicted, we seem to be in a pocket and all the precipitation goes everywhere around us instead.

I still need more coffee.

The timing sucks, because Princess Nagger is ‘Star of the Week’ in her Kindergarten class this week. She’s hoping any ‘snow days’ will be next week…even though the snow is/was due to arrive today…she still hoped it would (specifically) be next Tuesday / Wednesday, not this Tuesday / Wednesday.

It’s still snowing.

I still need more coffee.

The new puppy is acclimating himself into the family with no problem. He’s fearless. I’ll be sitting on the couch and he’ll be hopping around next to me, then suddenly launch himself onto my head. Literally.

Wonder how dorky the puppy will be in the snow? I think I’ll find out later today if it keeps snowing… πŸ˜‰

Yesterday Elvis (our dorky Wheaten) was comfortably sleeping on one end of the couch when the puppy decided that he looked too comfy over there – and leaped directly on him. Wish I had had my camera ready to snap that picture, it would have been a great moment! Especially the look on Elvis’s face…and it looked like Travis would be content to fall asleep right there on him. Of course Elvis was having none of that so he got up and went to hide upstairs. The puppy annoys him. But he puts up with him and even plays with him. Until he gets annoying.

I still need more coffee.

It’s still snowing.

Speaking of snow, Princess Nagger was talking the other day of wanting to visit Alaska. Because they do have snow. And lots of it.

Princess Nagger: “They have snow in Alaska.”

Me: “You’re right, they do!”

Princess Nagger: “Lots of it…I want to visit Alaska.”

Me: “I think it’d be great to visit Alaska – it’s a beautiful area.”

Princess Nagger: “And they have lots of snow!”

Me: “Yes, they do…”

Princess Nagger: “If we go to Alaska, I can build 40 snow forts, 10 snowmen, and one thousand snow balls!”

Me: “Wow, that would be a lot!”

Princess Nagger: “Yes, but they have enough snow so we’d be able to do that. You can help me.”

Me: “Sure, if we ever get the chance to visit Alaska, I’ll be happy to help you.”

Note to self: Don’t plan any Alaska trips while Princess Nagger is young enough to have her mind set on making all the snowballs, forts and snowmen…wait until she’s more interested in other stuff that doesn’t tire me out… πŸ˜‰
I’m off to get more coffee. And it’s still snowing.

  1. That DOES sound like a lot of work…good note to self!

I fixed Mr Linky and linked you up. Thanks for playing!

  2. SNow, Snow, Snow! You cant come visit me until she is off her snow kick… we never get snow. But we do have lots of coffee…and wine!

  3. HA! Right now, Idaho (where my parents live) has a ton more snow than AK (where I am from and the rest of my family is). Encourage her to visit Idaho, it’s a MUCH cheaper trip! LOL BTW, I hope you got your coffee!

  4. Hi Stacy.
    I gotta admit,
there are some things that I do miss about having a little girl and some things I do NOT miss…..

  5. eh hem… All that coffee talk, now I’m thirsty!

Your daughter is just precious! I’m with you–too much energy expended on snow forts and snow balls is totally up Daddy’s alley!

  6. That’s ok…I won’t be planning any Alaska trips any time soon either! Give me Hawaii!! I need warmth! I need MORE COFFEE!!! πŸ˜‰

  7. Yay! Featured poster!

I remember putting my pup in the snow for the first time. You’d see nothing then *boop*, up he’d fly and then he’d be gone again. The snow was higher than him and he loved it.

    Happy Random Tuesday, love you!

  8. You have snow! We have finally got rid of it…well not all of it but soon. How was the coffee oh I’m having some now LOL
This random comment should stop LOL

  9. Somehow I get the impression that you really need some coffee. I’m not sure where.

My dogs (or kids) have never seen snow but I’d like to take them to see it someday. I love videos of dogs hopping in the snow, don’t ask me why. You should post one!

    Happy randomness.

  10. did you even stay out of the bathroom w/ all that coffee???
    lol

and ya gotta love a childs mind…snow ball fights & snowmen…hehe…
(PS love her nickname! I have 2 Prince Naggers..and that is SO a perfect name for them…)

  11. @Keely: Yeah, I make lots of ‘notes to self’ when I’m in an interesting conversation with the Princess Nagger…(smirk, smirk!) Thanks for fixing Mr. Linky and linking me! πŸ˜‰ Thanks for stopping by!

@Minxy Mimi: The last few years we keep getting promised snow, warned about snow, and threatened with snow…but we haven’t been getting what we’ve been promised… πŸ˜‰ Today, while it looked like it was going to snow for quite some time, suddenly it stopped at about 1-inch…then the sun kept trying to burst through the clouds. No good snow for snow angels, snow forts, snowmen or snowballs… But if you have coffee…oh wait – and wine, too, hmmm? I’ll be right there! (snicker!) Thanks for stopping by!

@Stesha: Yes I sure did! Then my back teeth felt like they were floating… πŸ˜‰ I like Hugs and Mocha! πŸ˜‰ Thanks for stopping by!

@*Just Jen* That’s funny that Idaho has a ton more snow than Alaska – I can believe it, though, Mother Nature has been outta whack this year…I’m originally from Seattle, and they’ve gotten more snow in several months than PA has had for several years! There’s just something so wrong about that… (smirk, smirk!) I really enjoyed Idaho when I’ve visited it there before – it would be a cheaper trip than Alaska! (grin!) Yes indeed, I did get my coffee! πŸ˜‰ Thanks for stopping by! πŸ™‚

@I am Harriet: LOL Harriet! You crack me up! πŸ™‚ Thanks for stopping by! πŸ™‚

@Nicole: LOL Nicole! Hope you were able to quench your thirst! πŸ˜‰ It’s almost wine-o’clock time out here…(smirk, smirk!) I’m thinking the same thing – all that energy expended on snow forts and snow balls should be up Daddy’s alley…if Daddy wasn’t an Absent Minded Professor! (snicker!) Plus, I think she intends to pelt Dada with all those snowballs… (evil grin!) Thanks for stopping by! πŸ™‚

@the RaMbLeR: Ooooh, Hawaii would be a much better trip (for me) than Alaska! I think I’d rather build sand castles vs. snow forts for any length of time! πŸ˜‰ did you get your coffee? πŸ˜‰ Thanks for stopping by! πŸ™‚

@Julie@Cool Mom Guide: LOL! Thanks, Julie! πŸ™‚ I’m hoping we get enough snow that it makes it a hilarious event to put the puppy out to play in it…an inch just doesn’t have that same ‘giggle’ effect…(snicker!) My original Wheaten was a puppy when I lived in Michigan – we got a ton of snow and he was hilarious running around in the back yard (if you could call it ‘running’). It was the same thing…now you see him, now you don’t! It was hilarious – especially when he would stick his nose in the snow and bat his big brown eyes at you like he was taunting you to come get him…too much fun! πŸ™‚ Happy Random Tuesday to you and love you too! πŸ™‚ Thanks for stopping by! πŸ™‚

@Firefly: Yes we did…a whole inch! LOL!! There’s actually a ‘warning’ for tonight…they can’t seem to make up their minds about the amount to expect…whether it be 1-3 inches or 6-8 inches…so we’ll see what actually transpires, if anything! πŸ˜‰ The coffee was great, of course (since *I* made it…*snicker!*) how was yours? πŸ˜‰ You can feel free to leave random comments any time! πŸ˜‰ Thanks for stopping by! πŸ™‚

@Casey: Yeah, there were some subtle hints about needing coffee, weren’t there? (snicker!) OH! NEVER seen snow? You definitely should take them sometime – they’ll either love it or hate it! πŸ˜‰ Seeing dogs hopping around in the snow is always hilarious – I’ll definitely post a video if we get enough snow to really make the puppy have some fun! (snicker!) Happy Randomness to you, too! πŸ˜‰ Thanks for stopping by! πŸ™‚ said…

@Tiffi33: LOL Tiffi! πŸ˜‰ You definitely gotta love a childs mind – and the Princess Nagger is narrow minded (or is that single minded?) about the snow and seriously wanting a snowball fight…and a snow fort…and a snowman…heh, heh!! The nickname sure does fit – especially since she can be a Princess sometimes, but is definitely a Nagger! So she’s mostly a Princess Nagger! πŸ˜‰ Probably like your little men…They probably have a Princely side and a Nagging side… Prince Naggers! πŸ˜‰ Thanks so much for stopping by!

  12. That is a lot of snowballs. Holy cow. And all that coffee talk has subliminally pushed me to crave a cup of joe. Thanks. Hope it snowed finally, or didn’t. πŸ˜‰

  13. Did you get enough coffee? How much is enough, by the way? I can drink a pot pretty easily if I have a couple hours to work with.

  14. Sounds like an ad for Folgers! I love that I’m not the only coffee hound!
    Love the Nagger moniker!

  15. @mrsbear: That is a lot of snowballs isn’t it? And knowing the Princess Nagger, she’d be counting to make sure we made exactly one thousand! (snicker!) You’re welcome for subliminally pushing you to crave a cuppa joe…(smirk, smirk!) It snowed…a whole inch worth. But they keep threatening more tonight into tomorrow – they’re confused on how much, though…either 1-3 inches (which means a dusting) or 4-8 inches (which would still mean a dusting). So we’ll see…both Hovering Hubby and Nagging Princess are hoping they get a ‘snow day’ tomorrow. I’m thinking I’ll drive them somewhere and drop them off so they’re not in my hair all day if they both do get a snow day. (evil grin!) Thanks for stopping by! πŸ™‚

@Cameron: I did get enough, thanks for asking! πŸ˜‰ For me, I usually drink almost a full coffee press worth…which according to that is 10 cups, but I don’t see it…it only fills up my Starbucks tall insulated coffee mug 2-and-barely-a-half times…I can’t imagine it holds 4-5 cups of coffee. Unless they’re doing the measurement by those little espresso shot cups…the one-gulp wonders. Then it would make more sense… πŸ˜‰ Thanks for stopping by! πŸ™‚

@vsm/whirling dirvish photography: LOL! I do enjoy Folgers… but in this case that would be Maxwell House – you know, ‘cuz they’re ‘good to the last drop’! πŸ˜‰ I’m finding there are a lot of us ‘coffee hounds’ all over…it’s so nice to know we are not alone! LOL!! Yep, the Nagger moniker fits her SO well…like right now… (snicker!) Thanks for stopping by! πŸ™‚

  16. LOL-Love “Princess Nagger”. If you don’t mind, I just may have to pull that one out of my toolbelt the next time my girl drives me crazy (like in 3…2…1…) πŸ™‚ I’d love to see a video of your puppy playing in the snow! My Katie is a dachshund, so the snow here in MN is too deep for her to play. (Not that she would. Every time I take her out she takes care of business and then flies back to the door so fast that she practically levitates!) Glad to “meet” you!-A.

  17. @Shangrila: I don’t mind at all! πŸ˜‰ In fact, I think all princesses are pretty much naggers – I think it’s a requirement for their crown… (snicker!) I’ll definitely have to do a video of our puppy playing in the snow – I think it’ll be hilarious…maybe not so much for him, but he’s here for our entertainment, isn’t he? (smirk, smirk!) My sister has miniature dachshund – I’m thinking even the inch we got today would still be too deep for them…and way too deep in MN! πŸ˜‰ Now that would be a video to see – your dachshund looking like she ‘levitates’ to get back to the back door as quickly as possible! LOL!! Very nice to ‘meet’ you, too! πŸ™‚ Thanks so much for stopping by! πŸ™‚

@Kristen: It was a funny sight…especially after the puppy landed and my other dog lifted his head and looked at him, the puppy had an ‘Oh Sh*t!’ look on his face…then he got unceremoniously dumped off when the big dog got up… Now I have my camera within reach of my finger tips just in case that happens again! I might have to instigate it, though…(snicker!) πŸ˜‰ Thanks so much for stopping by! πŸ™‚

  18. I love conversations with kids! Someday, when Sprite is just a little more understandable, I plan to mess with her just a bit..

  19. @Sprite’s Keeper: Conversations with kids are the best! It’s funny, when they can’t talk yet, you’re anxious for them to learn and be able to communicate with you regularly… then when they start talking up a storm, you long for the days of quiet…but then you realize, you can really mess with them and it’s fun! (snicker!) I’ll be looking forward to your future posts when you’re messin’ with Sprite! (giggle!) Thanks so much for stopping by! πŸ™‚

@blueviolet: Yeah, it was funny the first time…not so much by the third and fourth times… LOL!! Luckily he’s still a lightweight ball of fur… hopefully he’ll get out of that pouncing on my head mode as he gets bigger… (grin!!) Thanks so much for stopping by! πŸ™‚

  20. Tell her snow is not all its cracked up to be. Once in a while, maybe. All day everyday for months and months? Not so much.

  21. I think I need more tea.

I love random thoughts Tuesday. I pretty much celebrate it in every post, but I enjoy learning what is running those people’s minds.

  22. @FoN: LOL! You do have a point…all day every day for months and months would get really old, really fast! πŸ˜‰ Thanks so much for stopping by! πŸ™‚

@K: Did you get more tea? πŸ˜‰ I pretty much celebrate randomness in every post, too – but I like the idea of Tuesday having an ‘excuse’ to be random…(grin!) And it’s really interesting to see what’s random on other people’s minds…(giggle!) Thanks so much for stopping by! πŸ™‚

@mommy4life: So glad you stopped by – hope you enjoyed your stay! Feel free to visit any time! πŸ˜‰
