It’s a New Year…Happy New Year! Most people have been plotting revenge figuring out what their Resolutions List should contain. I’ve never really been one to compile a Resolutions List, you know, conform to the masses that create a list that sets one up to fail…miserably. Sure, you know there’s the usual ‘Get more organized’, ‘Lose weight or Get in shape’, etc., etc., yada yada yada. I thought about doing some sort of ‘Non-Resolution List’, of things I’m not going to be doing in the year 2009, but I thought that would be too negative, and I’m all about the positives. But I better keep the list short, so I know I can attain them. I give you my 2009 Resolutions:

1. Enjoy what 2009 has in store.

What?! You mean I can’t just decide to post one item as the Resolution for 2009? Oh, fine. How about these:

  1. Eat healthier and get in better shape. (yes, the same thing everyone else plans to do!)
  2. Make New Friends. (you can never have too many friends!)
  3. Send family member’s and friends Birthday gifts out in a timely manner. (instead of days weeks months late.)
  4. Figure out how to manipulate change the templates in Blogger so I can have a 3-column blog setup (so that my bloggy friends badges can be displayed more prominently and I score some major brownie points) so it’s easier to read/follow my random thought process.
  5. Read a book a month. Wait, let’s make that one book per quarter – that should be more attainable! (how I love to read! Must make time to do so more often!)
  6. Open an Etsy Shop. (all the ‘cool kids’ are doing it!)
  7. And finally, most importantly, enjoy what 2009 has in store, no matter what that may be.
There you have it! My 2009 Resolutions that should be fairly easy to manage, I think. I wish everyone a Happy New Year, may you have Health and Prosperity during 2009! πŸ™‚

  1. Happy New Year! Those are great resolutions – I have a lot of the same. Good luck with your Etsy shop. I’m looking into that too. What are you going to make?

  2. I did this too although I called them my un-resolutions since I never, ever stick to the real ones. And if you ever figure out how on earth to get a 3 column design without paying an arm and a leg let me know. Happy New Year!

I have been working on a resolution attitude, not so much a list today….

Get busy living or get busy dying.

  4. I love your attitude… a resolution plan… not a list.

  5. I think you’re going to be just fine with those resolutions. Good choices!
When I came over here today, I saw I wasn’t following you so I had to follow again. I wonder what happened. Weird. Oh well, I fixed it.
    Cute header!

  6. All the cool kids ARE opening Etsy shops. πŸ™‚ Etsy is a great place and you should definitely be there. Feel free to ask me any questions if you want. I’ve been on Etsy almost since it started in 2005. =)

  7. Well, those sound very do-able! I could not do the 3 column myself… I was lucky to have a friend do it!

  8. Thanks, Carey! Happy New Year to you, too! πŸ™‚ I’m not sure just yet what I’ll put on my soon-to-be Etsy shop, I have so many ideas roiling around in my head, it’s a matter of focusing on the ‘good’ stuff and getting it done… πŸ˜‰ I’ll keep you posted! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with as well! πŸ˜‰

  9. Thanks, Harriet! Happy New Year to you! I love the description – ‘well-meaning goals’…isn’t that the truth?! LOL!!

  10. That’s too funny, Allison – I seriously thought about posting a specific list of ‘un-resolutions’, but thought I’d challenge myself by making my list ‘public’…then I’ll have a lot of people holding me accountable instead of just me! πŸ˜‰ I figured out the 3 column thingamajiggy – I’ll figure out how to write in in clear English and email you in the next day or two…I’m still tweaking, but so far, so good! πŸ™‚ Happy New Year to you, too! πŸ™‚

  11. Thank you so much for stopping by – and thanks for the great links! I like that phrase “Get busy living or get busy dying.” It is so true! I know I, for one, will be on the ‘get busy living’ side of things! πŸ˜‰

  12. Thank you so much, Elizabeth! πŸ˜‰ You know, I didn’t notice that your cute little violets had dropped off the follow list – until you mentioned that you had to re-follow…hopefully I didn’t mess something up with I was manipulating the code to make my blog easier on the eyes…heh, heh! Glad you caught it – I’ve sometimes accidentally ‘un-followed’ people when it looked like I wasn’t following them already, then had to re-follow them…funky little bugs! πŸ™‚ Thanks for the compliments – I’m happy with how the header turned out…love PhotoShop! πŸ˜‰ Now to get rid of the old border from the old header… πŸ˜‰

  13. LOL!! Yep, I’m definitely going to have to join the ‘cool kids’ and open an Etsy Shop! I’m already signed up, it’s just a matter of putting something together…but I might just take you up on your offer to answer my silly questions! πŸ˜‰ I’ve been on eBay since 1998, but have drifted away from selling on there because of all the changes within eBay as well as the changes of the people on eBay. Etsy looks so much more inviting and promising! πŸ™‚

  14. Do-able, indeed! πŸ˜‰ One down, 5-1/2 more to go! πŸ˜‰ I thought about asking someone else to help me out with it, but I tend to be one of those kinds of people that likes to figure things out…even if it means pulling hair out and getting frustrated…(read: stubborn) LOL!! Have a Happy New Year! πŸ™‚

  15. Thanks, Toni! And you’re absolutely right…I need to find out what happened to the other gifts before I even attempt to sending anything else out! *DONT_KNOW*

  16. Thanks, Nicole! Usually I don’t write mine down, let alone publish them for all to see – and hold me accountable…LOL! But I figured this way I’ll be able to attain what I consider my ‘goals’ rather than ‘I resolve to’…makes it easier to think I’ll actually be able to do them! πŸ˜‰

Happy New Year to you, too! πŸ˜€
