I give up…I tried for quite a while to have the fancy schmancy comment mode via JS-Kits…but my comments started acting wonky and tons of them even disappeared altogether. So as of this moment, I have reverted back to the basic Blogger Comment mode – so forgive the mess as I try to backtrack and do some cleanup (you know, combine my reply comments into one rather than have them scattered and confused). I’m boycotting not going to be using JS-Kits at all in the future unless their engineers actually come up with a resolution that won’t make my comment section get all freaky on me. It’s annoying. I’ve spent way too much time trying to get it to work and not enough time enjoying my favorite fellow bloggers, so I’m ditching the fancy and sticking with what actually works… πŸ˜‰

Besides, now I’ll be able to ‘find’ your blogs since the links really work in Blogger vs. forcing you to leave a link in JS-Kits. πŸ˜‰ Thanks for your patience – just know that if you left a comment for any previous posts and it’s not there, I honestly did not delete it…it’s swirling around in cyberspace somewhere between Blogger and JS-Kits. Hopefully they’ll reappear at some point. I’d keep my fingers crossed, but it makes it kinda hard to type that way. πŸ˜‰

post pictures of your new babe πŸ™‚

  3. @annie: Thanks for hanging in there with me, Annie! πŸ™‚ I should have given JS-Kits the boot when I first started having trouble…but better late than never! πŸ˜‰ You’re right – getting back to basics can be the best thing! πŸ˜‰ Thanks so much for stopping by! πŸ™‚

@Sited and Blogged: Thanks, Harriet! I appreciate the sympathy…or would that be empathy? πŸ˜‰ I’ll be heading over shortly to post something! πŸ™‚ And I’m conjuring up a witty post for the launch, too! πŸ˜‰ Thanks so much for stopping by! πŸ™‚

  4. I’ve been having some blog malfunctions too!! All my fault though, I wish I could blame someone else!!

  5. I was always curious about commenting on your blog… Basics sometimes are the best!

  6. @the Sassy Mom: LOL! I messed up my blog at some point, too, before I figured out that JS-Kit was an issue…I kept trying to ‘fix’ it on my end, then kept messing up my blog format and had to spend a full day fixing what I messed up! I usually refer to those as ‘Blonde Moments’… *grin!* Thanks so much for stopping by! πŸ™‚

@vsm/whirling: I do think that the comment thing was a tad bit intimidating to some people – and I don’t really think it worked properly for everyone (especially if they weren’t registered with the various comment programs that JS-Kit took over). So absolutely better to go back to the basics…I think the basics makes it more ‘warm and friendly’! πŸ˜‰ Thanks so much for stopping by! πŸ™‚

  7. @Morgan: Yeah, I saw the fancy mode on someone else’s blog and thought it’d be cool to have over here, too…especially the option of being able to reply directly to each individual comment. Little did I know what a headache that fanciness would cause later! πŸ˜‰ That, and it didn’t automatically link the people leaving comments for me to find their blogs easily. It was a pain for me, and an even bigger pain for the poor souls trying to leave me a comment! Ah well, better late than never on reverting back to the basics! πŸ™‚ Thanks a bunch for stopping by! πŸ™‚

@Yaya! LOL! You are too funny! Thanks for stopping by! πŸ˜‰

  8. I loved your fancy comment thingee. It used to email me a sweet personalized response every time I left a comment. It made me feel so loved.

Ah well, now your blog posts will have to make me feel loved.

  9. lol… Well, basic blogger isn’t as fancy, but it works–right? Glad to stop by and comment, too–love your blog πŸ™‚

  10. @Anne: Awww, I didn’t even know that fancy comment thingy did that! πŸ™‚ I’ll do my best to make you feel loved every time you come here, Anne! I appreciate your comments! πŸ™‚

@Nicole: Bless your heart! I love your blog, too – and always look forward to reading your posts and comments! πŸ™‚ You always make my day! πŸ™‚

  11. What a nightmare. Now you’re forced to revert to the Blogger comment method, the worst commenting system ever created. I never figured out why anyone would want to use Blogger and force their users to comment on an ugly page completely separated from the post that inspired the comment. There have been so many posts that I started to comment on and then changed my mind when I noticed that I’d have to go through Blogger to do it. Consider yourself special.

  12. I know someone else who was having trouble with JS-Kit. Sorry to hear it. Blogging problems are so frustrating, it should just WORK without having to use all sorts of weird plugins. Grr.

  13. I hear ya. WordPress just finally upgraded to a version that has nested comments that emails replies to people. I didn’t even realize they emailed replies until this morning though. Ha.

  14. @maininthemoon: Wow! I do feel special! πŸ˜‰ And guess what? You reminded me that there is another option for comments within Blogger – to select the ’embed under post’ option, which I have now done…Thanks for the tip! Maybe it won’t be as painful for people to leave comments in the ‘boring old Blogger mode’…heh, heh!! πŸ™‚

@Casey: I agree – everything else is so time consuming trying to keep on top of your blog and read/comment on others, we don’t need to burn precious time trying to figure out the funky plugins and problems!

@Julie: I’ve thought about using WordPress – I secured my domain name and I know there’s a way for blogger to ‘point’ to the domain name without losing past posts and consistency, but I’m nervous about doing that after all the trouble I’ve had with just the comment plugin…

@Firefly: LOL! You are so right! Just need it to work, don’t necessarily need ‘fancy’! πŸ˜‰
