Bad Technology Day…

My apologies to my readers – regular, new and future… I’m having a Technological Bad Day today – first my DVR wiped out all my recently recorded and past ‘saved’ items from its hard drive – from a power outage that lasted a whole 60 seconds (Comcast is not ‘Comcastic’, no matter what they say!) And now my blog template is all messed up…first the comments section where comments were showing up duplicated, and some even mysteriously disappeared (I have JS-Kits hopefully looking into that)…and when I was trying to figure out what happened to the comments (instead of being patient and waiting for JS-Kits to get back to me,) I screwed up my template…so that’s the mess you see going on at the moment.

I apologies for hurting your eyes – I’ll try to get my ‘pretty’ blog all sorted out and working again shortly! Thanks for hanging in there with me! πŸ™‚

About Stacy (the Random Cool Chick)

After 20+ years in the Corporate World and years of infertility, Princess Nagger made her miraculous appearance and I chose to become a SAHM and WAHM - I love every minute of it. We added Little Dude through adoption, adding a whole new dimension to our family. We have an eclectic mix of pets: dogs, cats, birds and fish. I love to cook and try new techniques to turn ordinary into extraordinary. Crafty by nature, I take on a lot of unique projects and enjoy seeing the end result. My favorite, of course, is making my own wine out of fruits and grapes. Experiments with water currently underway. I blog about the joys of parenting, family, friends, life, love and anything else that strikes my fancy. I do enjoy doing reviews and giveaways for products I use, believe in and can stand behind.

I’m sorry,I had to laugh at your Comcast comment. My hubby works for them. heehee
Hope your technological bad day got better!
BTW, I don’t know how I would react if my DVR got wiped out. *sob*

  3. Errrr, don’t ya just hate bad techy days! Anyways, no problem…still love all your blog thoughts… Take Care ~~Blog hugS~~

  4. @Dori: Thanks, Dori, I appreciate it! Still fighting with JS-Kit (of course their ‘office hours’ are 8-5, so I think I’m SOL on my mega missing comments until at least tomorrow…if ever! UGH!)

@MinxyMimi: It SUCKS, doesn’t it? And of course, when it rains, it pours…at least my computer is still working…heh, heh!

@Aubrey: LOL! My brother-in-law works for Comcast (out in Seattle) too, so I knew Comcast people wouldn’t (hopefully) be offended by the NOT Comcastic comment, ‘cuz it’s not the people it’s the technology! πŸ˜‰

This is the SECOND time I’ve had pre-recorded DVR stuff wiped out with a power outage (second DVR from Comcast). I was told the first time it was because the internal hard drive was bad and the unit needed to be swapped out…so I’m guessing this one’s on its way out, too… The last time they sent a guy out here and he brought a new unit – BUT the red flag should have gone up, because he had to delete the scheduled recording and previously-recorded stuff from whomever had this unit before I got it…that doesn’t bode well for future recordings. When it rebooted it went back to 12/17 – and kept none of the stuff I had recorded beyond that date, but ‘kept’ stuff I had previously deleted (missing the actual file, of course!) WAAAAAAAH!

Serves me right for being too busy to watch what I recorded – or at least transferring it to DVD for later! Live and learn…hopefully they’ll give me a unit that doesn’t already have stuff on it so the hard drive truly is clean (and defragged) πŸ˜‰

@gail: Gail, you just made my day all better!! LOL!! THANK YOU! πŸ™‚

  7. Hm, everything looks fine now! I actually loved Comcast when I had it, but now we have Dish and it seems every time the wind blows or my dog lifts his leg in the backyard, the cable goes out. Lots of fun!

  8. Blogger and Piccasso have been screwed up all day- I had only a couple of pics on my blog and was unable to load any- so….. its not just you- alot of phishing going aroudn I think as well.

  9. Thanks, Sprite!s And thanks a bunch for the laugh at the picture of your Dish going out when your dog lifts his leg in the backyard…LOL!!s We thought about getting Dish, but since we have a dog (and getting a puppy in a week-and-a-half) it’s probably wise to stick with Comcast…(snicker!)s Thanks for the laugh, and thanks for stopping by! πŸ™‚

  10. Oh good!s Thanks, Kelley – at least I won’t have to kick myself too hard for messing with my template…I wondered how come I kept getting funky error messages every time I tried to do something simple…I think I need to step away from the code and wait until tomorrow to see if it all settles out! πŸ˜‰ s Thanks so much for stopping by! πŸ˜€

  11. Oh, you poor thing!s I hate technology problems–I’m not patient at all!s Hang in there–it’ll get better–I hope soon πŸ™‚

Thanks for visiting me the other day! Sorry it took sooo long to respond, I’ve been sick in bed. And now I’m playing catch up! Hope tomorrow is a better day for you! :o)

  13. Thank you so much, Nicole!s It will get better – it has to! πŸ™‚ s Thanks so much for stopping by! πŸ˜€

  14. Awww, thank you Kimberly!s Yes, it really does suck having all my saved DVR stuff gone… πŸ™ s Hopefully Comcast will come through and give me a DVR that won’t have a bad hard drive in it, so I won’t have to go through that trauma again… πŸ˜‰ s Guess I should record the shows that don’t have full episodes available online on my trusty dusty old VCR instead of the DVR!
    s
OH, I sure hope you’re feeling better!s I myself am way behind in playing catch-up – and I wasn’t sick, so I have no real excuse! LOL!!s Feel better – and thanks so much for stopping by! πŸ™‚
