Toni started a great new thing,’Quotable Sunday‘. So I figured I’d post something before getting to work on my Christmas decorating…I know, I know – it’s just another form of procrastination! (grin!) Her post was quotes on Friendship, and that struck a chord with me as I had done a blogpost on that very thing conveniently entitled ‘Friendships’. So I decided I’d expand on her post and post a few of my favorite ‘Friendship’ quotes that I have always enjoyed:

“A friend is one who knows us, but loves us anyway.” Fr. Jerome Cummings

“Fate chooses our relatives, we choose our friends.” Jacques Delille

“Similarities create friendship’s while differences hold them together.” Unknown

“A friend is someone who can sing you the song of your heart when you’ve forgotten it.” Unknown

“A true friend is someone who thinks that you are a good egg even though he knows that you are slightly cracked.” Bernard Meltzer

“A true friend never gets in your way unless you are going down.” Arnold H. Glasgow

And some funny ones:

“To find a friend one must close one eye. To keep him – two.” Norman Douglas

“Never exaggerate your faults, your friends will attend to that.” Robert C. Edwards

“An old friend will help you move. A good friend will help you move a dead body.” Jim Hayes

I appreciate the friends that I have, have fond memories of the friends who are no longer in my life, and look forward to the new friends of the future. A friend of mine once said “No matter where you are in your life, you have friends that you can always count on – and the number of friends you can usually count on one hand!” I’m thankful for the friends that I can ‘count on one hand’ – they are my friendship rocks who have seen me through thick and thin. Here’s to friendships – old and new!

If you want to participate in “Quotable Sunday“, feel free to do so, I look forward to reading your favorite quotes!

  1. Love the quotes 🙂

Oh yes how is decorating going LOL Me I’m done ugh…well it only took me all night HAHAHAH, I had so little to sleep 🙁 and we have to go to a birthday party later UGH…I just want to sleep!

  2. Those are great quotes, all of them and so completely true.

Good luck with your decorating. It’s so cheery when it’s done!

  3. Miss Blondie: Thank you! They’re some of my favorites – and oh so true! 🙂

  4. Firefly: Thanks, I love ’em too! 😉

I’m making progress on my decorating, WooHoo! Mother Nature is cooperating today – sort of – she dispensed with the snow and allowed the sunshine to shine brightly, but keeps blowing lots of wind today, so I’m having trouble getting my garland wrapped around the front porch posts…thank goodness for scads of cable ties – guess it’s good it’s windy, I’ll be confident the garland won’t be disturbed on any other windy days this winter! LOL! Next up: Inside decorating and the tree…hopefully I’ll be done by dinnertime…more likely if I can stay away from the computer for a while! (grin!)

Good luck with the birthday party – hopefully you won’t be too loopy from lack of sleep! 😉

  5. blueviolet: They are all true, aren’t they? Even the last one! (wink!)

Thanks for the luck – I need it! But you’re right, it is so cheery when it’s done, so I’m really looking forward to that part! 🙂

  6. Minxy Mimi: I agree – friendships are definitely an important part of our lives!
