Where was my head yesterday? I forgot to post my Advent Sunday picture, and I forgot to post my quotes for Toni’s Quotable Sunday…I know where it was – it was dizzy from watching my Little Princess running around in circles all day long! I swear if anyone would have stopped by yesterday they would have thought we’d been plying her with pure sugar all day, she had so much energy we haven’t figured out where it came from! On the flip side, at least it’s a clear sign that she is completely and totally over her never-ending cold she and I both had…glad it took a hike before Christmas gets here! 😉

I have been doing great at keeping ‘on time’ with stuff…mostly, but now it seems that time keeps getting away from me. Christmas is speeding up on me, and I’m not ready like I usually am! My cards are going out late (because of my picture order snafu with RiteAid), my decorations got put up 2 weeks late (and I still have a few things to do, but am debating on just letting things stay ‘as is’ and try again next year), I’m behind on racking my wine and getting my carboys moved down to the basement from my dining room, and my gift baskets for friends and family are far from being completed, which means they might be getting them in time for New Year vs. Christmas (since I have to ship them to the West Coast). Time is a precious commodity – I’m sure what really put me behind this year is the sinus infection that wouldn’t go away for just over 2 months right through Thanksgiving and beyond – that’ll slow any one down, even someone like me who tries to ignore not feeling well and just push on! 🙂

So, while I’m a day late (and a dollar short!), I decided to go ahead and post some of my favorite ‘time’ quotes:

“Dost thou love life, then do not squander time, for that’s the stuff life is made of.” Benjamin Franklin

“You will never “find” time for anything. If you want time, you must make it.” Charles Bruxton

“I recommend you take care of the minutes and the hours will take care of themselves.” Earl of Chesterfield

“To do two things at once is to do neither.” Publius Syrus

“Take care of the minutes and the hours will take care of themselves.” Lord Chesterfield

“Time, which changes people, does not alter the image we have of them.” Marcel Proust

“Time is a physician which heals every grief.” Diphilus

“To comprehend a man’s life, it is necessary to know not merely what he does but also what he purposely leaves undone. There is a limit to the work that can be got out of a human body or a human brain, and he is a wise man who wastes no energy on pursuits for which he is not fitted; and he is still wiser who, from among the things that he can do well, chooses and resolutely follows the best.” John Hall Gladstone

Next Sunday I will post on Sunday for Quotable Sunday! 🙂

  1. Thank you so much! I’m really glad we got over our yucks so we can truly enjoy the Christmas season – even though it’s coming up way too fast! 😀
